Ošťádalová, Aneta
The bachelor thesis is a literary research devoted to energy drinks. The introductory part of the thesis describes the general characteristics of energy drinks, their history and legislation. Next part of the work is focused on the availability of energy drinks on the Czech market, their production and individual raw materials used for production. The thesis further describes natural alternatives that are used for the production of energy drinks, which include Panax ginseng, Guarana, Ilex paraguariensis, Ginkgo biloba and Cola nitida. The last part is devoted to the physical and chemical methods used for the analysis of individual components of energy drinks, such as the determination of carbohydrates, organic acids, vitamins, alkaloids, antioxidants, amino acids, inositol and glucuronolactone.

The aim of this dissertation was to valorize the effect of various levels of taurine on the antioxidant status in rats body, monitor serum taurine and individual aminoacids in selectedorgans. This dissertation valorize the influence of taurine in the rats liver and brain after its application into feed mixtures. The effect of taurine was monitored on the ratio of GSH / GSSG,concentration of metallothionein and taurine. To this experiment were used 48 Wistar male rats, which were divided into eight groups (n = 6). During four weeks feed mixtures were given to these rats enriched with taurin eat a dose of 0, 1000, 1500, 2000 2500, 3000, 3500 and 4000 mg / kg / diet. Animals accepted diet and drinking water ad libitum. Average consumption of feed mixtures were 35 grams per day. Application taurine in creased concentration of taurine in the organism, which has an positive effect on antioxidant mechanisms of the organism. In deed we can not confirm that the addition of taurine in to the diet increases the concentrations of metallothionein and glutathione in the organism. In the brain was found increasing ratio of GSH / GSSG and reduced concentration of metallothionein. The other way around in the liver was reduction ratio of GSH / GSSG and increasing concentration of metallothionein.
Consumption of energy drinks by pupils at a selected lower secondary school
Kunešová, Klára ; Thorovská, Alena (advisor) ; Zvírotský, Michal (referee)
Consumption of energy drinks by pupils at a selected lower secondary school ABSTRACT The presented bachelor's thesis deals with the issue of energy drinks consumption by pupils at a selected lower secondary school. The concept energy drink is described in the introduction to the theoretical part of the thesis. Furthemore, the theoretical part of the thesis is dedicated to the description of the most common components in energy drinks. Subsequently, the thesis focuses mainly on the amount of sweeteners in selected energy drinks on the Czech market. In the practical part of the thesis there is a questionnaire survey investigated among pupils at the lower secondary school in Český Brod, where their general awareness of energy drinks is ascertained. KEYWORDS Energy drinks, vitamins, taurine, caffeine, sweeteners, questionnaire survey, lower secondary school, consumer behaviour
Význam taurinu ve výživě
Široký, Roman
Taurine is a non-essential amino acid occurring as 2-aminoethanesulfonic acid, which has the largest share in animal tissues. Taurine is an amino acid derivative of cysteine is involved in several physiological processes of powerful antioxidant properties. Its deficiency causes damage to the heart muscle. Involved in lipid metabolism and has a positive effect on blood cholesterol. Taurine is used among athletes, which reduces the level of lactic acid. Together with caffeine and guarana with taurine found in energy drinks. For its positive qualities taurine considered as a functional food. In our experiments 400 taps are divided into 8 groups of 50 individuals were from the 10th day of age fed feed mixture BR 1 second BR 2 contains taurine at levels of 0, 250, 500, 750 mg / kg of the mixture. Used blends diets were created as isonitrogenous and isoenergetics. The feeding mixture was carried out on ad libitum in granular form from tube feeders. At the end of the monitoring period were evaluated: growth during the feeding experimental mixtures, consumption and feed conversion and mortality. The difference in final weight between the experimental group of 750 mg / kg of taurine enriched feed mixture and the taurine-free feed mixture was 72 g. Influence of added taurine on growth of chicken describe equation y=2347,8 -0,0941 x (R2=0,9151), where x= mg taurine per kg mixture. How much and at which condition has taurine influence on depression of growth, will be necessarily confirm in the others experiments.
The effects of energy drinks on the human organism and the level of information on this issue among adolescents.
ANDRÝSKOVÁ, Zuzana
This diploma thesis deals with the effects of energy drinks on the human organism and the importance of energy drinks in the dietary regime for adolescents in the Czech Republic. The theoretical part of the diploma thesis describes energy drinks, presents the history of beverage production, current market and consumption of these beverages in the world. The theoretical part also desribes in more detail the individual components of energy drinks and their effects on the human organism. In the theoretical part, the period of adolescence is characterized, and appropriate nutrition, drinking regime and movement in adolescent life are presented as well. The practical part analyzes the level of consumption of energy drinks by adolescents, their awareness of the composition of drinks and possible adverse effects after consumption. The analysis is based on quantitative research, which was conducted using an anonymous questionnaire survey. The obtained data are processed in graphical and tabular form.

Growth factors and other bioactive substances for osteogenic differentiation of mesenchymal stem cells
Blahnová, Veronika ; Rampichová, Michala (advisor) ; Vandrovcová, Marta (referee)
The main function of mesenchymal stem cells in the body is to facilitate the restoration and regeneration of damaged tissues. They are known for the ability to differentiate into tissue originating from the mesoderm, which among others includes connective tissues. Due to this feature are MSCs being intensively examined. Different directions of differentiation can be induced by treatment of specific polypeptides, so called growth factors. In the field of tissue engineering are growth factors used to induce and accelerate the healing processes. They may be incorporated into the nanofiber carrier which is inserted into the site of injury. Cells in this area would thus be stimulated by surrounding 3D microenvironment. At the same time the scaffold provides a supply of growth factors which are able to affect metabolism, motility and differentiation of present cells. In order to induce osteogenic differentiation of human MSCs the following bioactive substances were used: TGF-β, bFGF, HGF, IGF-1, VEGF and the BMP-2 and the organic acid taurine. During 21 days lasting experiments, were these molecules added to the medium in various combinations and in the case of taurine also at two different concentrations. Cells were cultured on plastic. The best effect on cellular metabolism of MSCs, evaluated by MTS...
The Role of Energy and Stimulating Drinks in the Drinking Regimen of Adolescents
ŘÍHA, Jakub
The thesis deals with the consumption of energy and stimulative drinks by adolescents in the Czech Republic. This current topic is treated in the theoretical part of the thesis, in its two sections. In the first section, the important terms, such as ?adolescence? or ?digesting drinks?, are explained. The second theoretical section deals with the daily fluid intake and describes energy and stimulative drinks, their composition and their impact on human body. There is also information about the use of these drinks in combination with alcohol. The practical part of the thesis contains analysis of the consumption of energy and stimulative drinks by adolescents from 15 to 26 years of age. More than 1,200 respondents took part in the electronic research. To compare the results, there are two age groups: 15-20 years of age and 21-26 years of age. The results of the research confirm that energy drinks are consumed at the usual rate, while stimulative drinks are included in the daily fluid income of Czech adolescents very often. The main reason for consumption of these drinks is to eliminate the feeling of tiredness.
